Content Structure
Afterglow organizes content into a clear hierarchy designed for structured learning, alongside standalone articles for flexible knowledge sharing.
Modules
Section titled “Modules”Modules are the top-level containers for learning content. Each module has a title, subtitle, introductory text, a cover image, and a category. Modules can be marked as premium, restricting access to users with premium status.
Modules contain one or more lessons.
Lessons
Section titled “Lessons”Lessons are individual learning units within a module. Each lesson has a title, subtitle, and an optional cover image. Like modules, lessons can be marked as premium.
Lessons can have availability rules attached to control when they become accessible to users. Lessons contain one or more steps.
Steps are the individual content items within a lesson. They are displayed in a defined sort order and can include text content, media, surveys, and tools. Steps are the most granular level of the content hierarchy.
Articles
Section titled “Articles”Articles are standalone content pieces that exist outside the module hierarchy. They are useful for blog-style posts, knowledge base entries, or any content that does not fit into a structured learning path.
Each article includes a title, rich text content, an author, and can be categorized by topic and tagged for discoverability. Users can bookmark articles for later reference. Articles also support AI-powered search through vector embeddings.
The articles feature can be enabled or disabled per tenant by a system administrator via feature flags.
Topics and tags
Section titled “Topics and tags”- Topics — Categories used to organize articles into broad subject areas.
- Tags — Additional labels that provide finer-grained classification for articles.
Surveys
Section titled “Surveys”Surveys can be embedded within content steps. They consist of questions, answer options, and answer groups. User responses are captured as survey submissions.
Images, videos, and audio files can be attached to content at various levels. Media items support transcripts for accessibility and searchability.
