Availability Rules

Availability rules control when lessons become accessible to users. Rules are grouped into an availability setting, which is then applied to a lesson. Multiple rules can be combined to create precise access conditions.

Content becomes available a specified number of days after the user registers on the platform. This is useful for onboarding sequences where you want to drip-feed content over time.

Content becomes available a specified number of days after the user completes the previous lesson in the same module. This ensures users progress through content in order with optional spacing between lessons.

Content becomes available a specified number of days after the user completes a particular lesson. Unlike the previous-lesson rule, this allows you to create dependencies on any lesson in the platform, not just the one immediately before.

An administrator manually activates content for specific users. This is useful for content that should only be unlocked on a case-by-case basis, such as bonus materials or assessment follow-ups.

Manual activations track each user’s status: Assigned, Completed, or Overdue. An optional expiry period can be set, after which the activation becomes overdue if the content has not been completed.

In addition to availability rules, both modules and lessons can be marked as premium. Only users with premium status can access premium content. This works independently of availability rules — a premium lesson must satisfy both its availability rules and the user’s premium status to be accessible.

An availability setting can contain multiple rules. When multiple rules are present, they work together to determine access. This allows you to build conditions like “available 7 days after registration, but only after completing the introduction lesson.”
